WPCC Parent Info - Parent Association

The Parent Association (PA) for White Plain’s Children Center is open to all parents.  PA meets for one hour on the last Thursday of every month, unless otherwise noted.  Meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. and childcare is provided.

The Parent Association conducts 2 to 3 fund raising events a year to support the classrooms. Past support has been in the form of staff appreciation events, special events for the children and to purchase extra items for the Center.   In addition, parents have donated many hours to improve or enhance the playgrounds, from building the play structures to shoveling sand. Redesigning the WPCC website was completed by a parent volunteer. Parent volunteers provide teacher appreciation events throughout the year, including teacher appreciation week in May. Parent volunteers play Santa to make teacher wish lists come true for their classrooms.

The Parent Association also has a non-voting position on the Board of Directors.  A parent representative attends each meeting to represent the parent population.   The parents have a voice at WPCC.

To join is very simple…just come.  There are no dues required, just the need for positive, active parents who want to be a part of their child’s education and involved with their care.  We would like to encourage all parents to get involved.  Without the support of the families at WPCC, the Center would not be successful.  Your involvement is an investment in your child’s well-being and future.

If you would like to talk with a parent currently enrolled or have any questions, please call the Center and ask that a representative from the Parent Association contact you.
